Athletic Financial Awards
First-year student athletes at Ontario University Athletics institutions will be getting some more help on the financial front when the 2007-2008 season commences. Entering students with an average of at least 80 percent are eligible to receive up to $3,500 annually from their university to help with expenses for the school year. UOIT will be developing its AFA program over the next year, so this is very good news for future Ridgebacks. The amounts and number of AFAs are at the discrection of the school.

High Average Recognition Program

These awards have a total value of $18,000 over four years. High Achievement Recognition Awards are based on admission average and do not require an application.

In addition, UOIT recognizes the accompliments of secondary school applicants admitted to the university with the following Awards of Recognition:

95% or higher = $12,000 ($3,000 x 4 years)
90-94.9% = $8,000 ($2,000 x 4 years)
85-89.9% = $6,000 ($1,500 x 4 years)
80-84.9% = $3,000 ($750 x 4 years)
75-79.9% = $500(non renewable)

Renewal subject to maintaining a minimum grade point average.
