Ridgebacks Men's Hockey No Match for Lakehead on this night!

The No. 6 Lakehead Thunderwolves men¹s hockey team skated to a weekend sweep over the visiting UOIT Ridgebacks with a 6-1 win Saturday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay. The Wolves defeated the Ridgebacks 5-1 on Friday night.

Lakehead raises its OUA mark to 10-2 (11-5 overall); while UOIT goes to 1-7-2 in OUA play (3-11-2 overall).

Lakehead¹s goals came from three defensemen; Andy Zulyniak, Jordan B. Smith, and Jordan C. Smith, and two forwards; Brock Mcpherson and Tobias Whelan.
Zulyniak, McPerson, and Whelan also each added an assist on the night.
UOIT¹s goal came from Brent Varty.

Five of the six Lakehead goals came on the powerplay and UOIT¹s goal also
came with the man advantage. Lakehead was 5-9 on the powerplay while UOIT
was 1-7.

Lakehead freshmen netminder Kyle Moir earned the win (3-2 in OUA play)
turning aside 18 UOIT shots while Ridgebacks netminder Matt Mateja made some
strong saves on the night; kicking out 41 shots from the Wolves.
