The UOIT Ridgebacks men's program showed steady signs of improvement over the year.
The highlight from this past weekend was the doubles play. Ryan Coppola (Richmond Hill) and Christopher King (Whitby) pulled out a hard fought 8-6 doubles victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues. The Ridgebacks doubles teams almost completed the first sweep of the season, as Nicholas Soldera (Woodbridge) and Anirudh Thommandram (Toronto) were beat out 8-6 against Toronto and Jimmy Hann (St. John’s, Nfld.) and Luis Tam (Oshawa) served and rallied to an 8-7 (7-3) defeat to Toronto.
In singles action, Christopher King was able to grab a set from Toronto 7-5, before falling in three sets.
