RIDGEBACKS MEN'S HOCKEY INAUGURAL OUA HOMEOPENER
Oshawa – The first ever Ontario University Athletics (OUA) regular season puck drops on the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) men’s hockey program on Friday, October 12. The Ridgebacks face off against the Queen’s Golden Gaels (Kingston) at the Campus Ice Centre on the UOIT campus. Face-off is set for 7:30pm, with a ceremonial puck drop before hand.
The Ridgebacks are entering their inaugural OUA regular season schedule, and are led behind the bench by former OUA Coach of the Year Marlin Muylaert (Port Perry), along with assistants Rob Pearson (former Toronto Maple Leaf – Courtice) and Bret Meyers (Uxbridge).
Offensively, UOIT will look to former Aurora Tigers standout Brent Connolly (Pickering) and Kingston Frontenacs former sniper Brent Varty (Oshawa) to lead a young but talented cast of forwards. Former Plymouth Whalers defender Richard Power (Scarborough), is a threat from the blue line.
Limited seating is still available, and to purchase tickets in person visit the Campus Ice Centre or the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, both located on the UOIT campus.
