RIDGEBACKS TENNIS SET TO SERVE UP SECOND SEASON OF COMPETITION
Oshawa - The UOIT Ridgebacks are set to begin their second season of ‘serving and smashing' with the best that Ontario University Athletics (OUA) has to offer.
The men's team will look to returning veterans Ryan Coppola (Mechanical Engineering) , Jimmy Hann (Criminology), Anirudh Thommandram (Electrical Engineering) , Christopher King (Commerce) and Paul Dwyer CHS graduate, Luis Tam (Mechanical Engineer) . This year's freshmen crop for the Ridgebacks are all Whitby products; Nicholas Soldera (Engineering) , Lee Cockerham (Business) and Stephen Rudzinski (Game Development).
The Ridgebacks will host Montreal at the Campus Tennis Centre (CTC) on Saturday, September 15 @ 1:00pm and then head over to York University ( Toronto ) on Saturday, September 22 for 9:00am . UOIT will entertain the McMaster Marauders (Hamilton) the following day, September 23 at 9:00am back at the CAC.
The UOIT women‘s squad along with York University (Toronto) and Montreal will venture into the Tennis Campus Centre and the heart of Ridgeback country today, September 14. The women will then serve to McGill University and the University of Toronto on Saturday, September 15 at York University ( Toronto ).
Returning Ridgebacks Dawn O'Brien (Commerce) , Emma Waith (Nursing) , Sandra Bower (Nursing) , Katie Proctor (Nursing) , Sherry Nesbitt (Nursing) will look to build on last year's inaugural season experience. Bianca Savarino-Easter (B. Ed.) , Giannetta Savarino (B. Ed.) and Gillian Farahbakashian will be experiencing the OUA circuit for the first time.
