RIDGEBACKS WOMEN'S TENNIS BEGIN SECOND SEASON

Oshawa , ON – The UOIT Ridgebacks were supposed to open the 2007 tennis schedule on their home court at the Campus Tennis Centre. However, due to facility problems were forced to host the visiting York Lions (Toronto), University of Toronto Blues (Toronto), McGill Marlets (Quebec) and Montreal at a neutral site in Whitby, and then played the remaining games at York University on Friday afternoon and Saturday.

The ladies battled hard on the court throughout the weekend but were not able to pick up a point. Although on two seperate occasions, the Ridgebacks were within a single game of earning a point. On September 14, Emma Waith (Nursing) lost her singles match 8-6 against her opponent from Montreal and on September 15, Bianca Savarino-Easter (B.Ed) and Giannetta Savarino (B. Ed.) lost their doubles match to McGill by the same score.
