RIDGEBACKS WOMEN'S HOCKEY INAUGURAL OUA GAME
Oshawa – The first ever Ontario University Athletics (OUA) regular season puck drops on the University of Ontario Institute of Technology women’s hockey program on Saturday, September 29. The Ridgebacks face off against the Western Mustangs (London) at the Campus Ice Centre on the UOIT campus. Game time is 1:30pm.
The Ridgebacks are entering their inaugural OUA regular season schedule, as they played an exhibition and tournament schedule last year including various OUA competition throughout the season.
The ladies are led behind the bench by head coach Gary Pitcher (Whitby), along with assistants Karen Nystrom (former International and Olympic star - Whitby) and program co-founder, Scott Barker (Courtice).
Offensively, UOIT looks to former Durham West standout Chrissy Tereshyn (Scarborough) and Cold Creek Midget former sniper Rikki Palmateer (Cobourg), to lead a young but talented cast of forwards. Defender Megan Friel (Pickering), is a threat from the blue line.
Limited seating is still available, and to purchase tickets in person visit the Campus Ice Centre or the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, both located on the UOIT campus.
