Good Effort by the Ridgebacks at the Campus Tennis Centre

Oshawa, Ont. – The UOIT Ridgebacks women’s tennis team took part in their second match of the year on Wednesday afternoon against York University. The Lions continued their charge at a sixth OUA Championship as they swept the Ridgebacks 7-0.

York, who had upset the four-time defending OUA champion University of Toronto Varsity Blues to begin the season were too much for the Ridgebacks to handle on this day.

Despite the one-sided score, Ridgebacks head coach Ken Crosina was pleased with his team’s effort. “The team played quite well,” noted coach Crosina. “In total, we lost 14 sudden death deuce points which could have given us 14 more games won. I was very impressed with our players’ on-court attitude and never say die approach!”

The Campus Tennis Centre will feature plenty of OUA action this weekend as teams from across Ontario and Quebec are traveling to Oshawa for regular season play (schedule below).
