UOIT Tennis Picks Up Points Against Montreal

Oshawa, Ont. – The UOIT Ridgebacks men’s and women’s tennis teams were in action against the University of Montreal on Sunday at the Campus Tennis Centre. Both teams put in a strong effort as they picked up points in their matches, but fell short of their first win with 6-1 defeats.

On the women’s side, Steph Collings (Stratford, Ont.) held off her opponent with a three-set win (6-2, 0-6, 6-4) whileLee Cockerham (Whitby, Ont.) of the men’s team picked up a marathon victory (5-7, 7-5, 6-3) over his Montreal opponent.

The Ridgebacks team will host the University of Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday, September 26 (women’s – 4:30 p.m. and men’s – 7:30 p.m.).
