Ridgebacks Season tickets now on Sale

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Ridgebacks men's and women's hockey teams are heading into their fourth season of play with more excitement and confidence than ever. Both teams will know the route they will have to take in order to achieve their goals as the OUA regular season schedule has been released.

The men's team regular season begins on Thursday, October 7 as they travel to Wilfrid Laurier to take on the Golden Hawks. Two days later (Saturday, October 9), the Ridgebacks will host the Golden Hawks for their home opener at the Campus Ice Centre. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m.

In a rematch of their first ever playoff series, the Ridgebacks will faceoff against Western Mustang's three times in 2010-11, with two visits taking place at the Campus Ice Centre. Their first meeting will take place in Oshawa on Friday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m. Thunder Bay's Lakehead Thunderwolves will be in town for a weekend doubleheader on November 12-13.

The Ridgebacks exhibition schedule is highlighted with a match against the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, September 18 in Huntsville, Ont. The game will be a part of an OUA university hockey showcase in the northern Ontario hockey hotbed. The Ridgebacks will also pay a visit to Western Michigan University from October 1-3 for an exhibition series.

This season will mark the 100th anniversary of the Queen's Cup in March, 2011.

The women's team opens up their regular season with a challenging home game against the seven-time OUA defending champions, the Laurier Golden Hawks. The Ridgebacks final game of the 2009-10 season saw a 1-0 hard loss to the Golden Hawks.

The Ridgebacks final two games of the regular season are against a pair of GTA opponents, the York Lions and Toronto Varsity Blues, on the weekend of February 12-13 at the Campus Ice Centre. With parody a common theme throughout OUA women's hockey, these matches should have significant playoff implications.
