Former Oshawa General set to join the Ridgebacks
OSHAWA, Ont. – A week before training camp opens, University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) men’s hockey head coach Marlin Muylaert is proud to announce the addition of Kody Musselman to the roster.
“We are pleased to be adding Kody to the Ridgeback lineup,” said Muylaert. “Kody plays the game with the physical presence which we feel is important to our success. During his OHL career he has played wing, centre and even some defence. His versatility will be a real asset to the team.”
Musselman was Sarnia’s first round selection (16th overall) in the 2004 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) draft after playing 34 games with the Oshawa Legionaires in the OPJHL.
The Whitby, Ont. native was with the Sting for two seasons, playing in over fifty games each year.
Prior to the 2006-07 season, Musselman was traded to the Oshawa Generals where he played in 42 regular season and nine playoff games.
Musselman played in total 210 games in the OHL, 13 of which were in the postseason after finishing his junior career with the Brampton Battalion in 2006-07. Known for his strength and toughness, he racked up 313 penalty minutes over four seasons.
The Ridgebacks open training camp on September 6th at the Campus Ice Centre.
