Ridgebacks heading to Ann Arbor in 2011
Hockey Season tickets now on sale

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Ridgebacks men's and women's hockey teams are heading into their fifth season of competition with more excitement and confidence than ever. Both teams will know the route they will have to take in order to achieve their goals as the OUA regular season schedule has been released.

The men’s hockey season will begin with an exhibition road trip south of the border where the Ridgebacks will take on the Michigan Wolverines and the Bowling Green Falcons from October 1-2. This will be the first time in UOIT history that the program will be taking on the perennial NCAA powerhouses. Last season, the Ridgebacks defeated the nationally ranked Ferris St. Bulldogs to pick up their first win over an NCAA opponent.

The men's team regular season home opener is set for Saturday, October 8 against the York Lions. Puck drop at the Campus Ice Centre is at 7:30 p.m.

The women's team will also open up the home portion of their regular season against York. The game will take place on Friday, October 14 at 7:30 p.m. Two days later, the Ridgebacks will welcome in the defending OUA champion Queen’s Gaels for a Sunday afternoon matinee.
