Ridgebacks continue to struggle on the road
OUA Men’s Hockey – RMC defeated UOIT 3-2
KINGSTON, Ont. – The UOIT Ridgebacks men’s hockey team dropped their third straight game to start the season as they were defeated by the RMC Paladins 3-2 in Kingston on Saturday night.
The Ridgebacks outshot RMC 43-27, but goaltender Matt Beirnes made 41 saves in the Paladins second win of the weekend.
UOIT scored two goals in the game, both coming with the man advantage. Matt Pasztor scored his first of the year in the second period, with assists by Josh Vatri and Jesse Stoughton. Kingston native Tony Rizzi scored the game’s lone goal in the third period, with assists by Luke VanMoerkerke and Kody Musselman.
Scott Domenico had a goal and an assist for RMC, including the game winner at the 11:54 mark of the second period.
Jason Guy made 24 saves in between the pipes for UOIT.
The Ridgebacks will wrap up their three game road trip on Wednesday night as they take on the Guelph Gryphons. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m.
