Ridgebacks take part in the U of T Invitational

TORONTO – The UOIT Ridgebacks continued their inaugural OUA women’s lacrosse season this weekend as they took part in the University of Toronto Invitational.
 
Playing in cold and wet conditions, the Ridgebacks fought hard but fell short of picking up their first win of the year as they fell to Guelph, McMaster and the defending OUA champion Laurier Golden Hawks.
 
The Ridgebacks got off to a great start against Laurier, who has won six of the last seven OUA championships, as they scored the opening goal of the game.
 
Despite playing well defensively and playing well on attack trading goals early on, the defending champions eventually pulled as they won by a score of 13-5.
 
UOIT will now travel to Laurier on October 9 for games against Queen’s and the Golden Hawks.

The OUA championship is scheduled for October 21-23 at the University of Guelph.
