UOIT drops a 4-1 decision to Laurier

OUA Men’s Soccer: Laurier defeated UOIT 4-1
 
WATERLOO, Ont. – The UOIT Ridgebacks men’s soccer team failed to pick up the season sweep over the Laurier Golden Hawks as they were defeated by a score of 4-1 on Thursday night.
 
Earlier this year, the Ridgebacks shutout Laurier 2-0 on Vaso’s Field.
 
Justin Gordon (Pickering, Ont.) scored UOIT’s lone goal in the loss at the 20 minute mark in the second half, but the Ridgebacks had already given up three goals up until that point. Gordon leads the Ridgebacks in scoring with four goals this season.
 
Matt Caldaroni (Pickering, Ont.) made six saves for UOIT in the losing effort.
 
UOIT will look to pass Waterloo in the OUA west region standings on Saturday as they will take on the Warriors on the road. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
The Ridgebacks game against York has been rescheduled to Wednesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. York is the number one ranked team in the CIS.
