UOIT shuts out the high powered Marauders

OUA Men’s Soccer: UOIT tied McMaster 0-0

HAMILTON, Ont. – Freshman Matt Caldaroni recorded his second straight shutout for the UOIT men’s soccer team as the Ridgebacks tied the McMaster Marauders 0-0 in Hamilton on Sunday.

Caldaroni picked up his first OUA shutout earlier in the week as the Ridgebacks defeated Laurier 2-0. In Sunday’s match, the Pickering native stopped all four McMaster shots on target.

McMaster entered the game on a four game winning streak and had the conference’s top offence averaging almost three goals per game.

In the last three games, UOIT has only allowed one goal in a 1-0 loss to Brock.

McMaster remains in second place with a 5-1-2 record while UOIT picked up their fourth point of the year (1-6-1).

The Ridgebacks next home game is on Thursday, September 29 against the Guelph Gryphons (4-3-1). Guelph defeated UOIT 3-2 earlier in the season.
